It has a toggle switch to choose two Compression modes options.

The up position is the classic mode, it offers the classic tone—tamed mid- and high frequencies with strong punch at higher gain levels, producing a richly textured sound.

The down position mode, compression is reduced, with slightly less emphasis on low-end frequencies and a subtle boost in the mid, resulting in a brighter, more transparent tone with excellent dynamics. This makes it ideal as a gain booster. If you love JM's signature sound, this one is definitely the right choice for you.
